Katie Kaizer is a Nantucket native, and she has always found inspiration in the beauty of her home. Her photography style is natural and journalistic; she documents the moments and experiences people cherish forever. Katie’s enthusiasm for life, love and adventure is evident throughout her work. Although many photo projects have led her around the world, she always loves returning to island life and the community on Nantucket.
In 2009 Katie enrolled in the New England School of Photography for their two-year professional program. She studied photojournalism, wedding and portrait photography. Katie started her business in 2011, shooting on Nantucket and abroad, she is thankful to make a living doing what she loves.
Katie is constantly evolving her craft. In addition to numerous conferences and workshops, she attended the prestigious Foundation Workshop in 2017 and returned as a staff member in 2018. She enjoys wedding and portrait work along with her own personal projects that she seeks out every off-season. Most recently she spent time documenting an equine therapy center in Florida and created a multimedia project that tells their story. She believes in pushing beyond one’s comfort zone in order to grow and those experiences translate directly into the quality of her work.
Her work has been featured in Boston Weddings Magazine, Newport Wedding Magazine, WellWed Magazine, Nantucket Magazine, Style Me Pretty Blog and is featured regularly on Huff Post Weddings, Classic Bride, and other local and national publications. Katie was named as one of the ‘Top 20 Wedding Photographers in the Boston Area’ by Bride Box and has been interviewed by many publications about her unique approach.
